Face Shields

Face Shields

Face shields designed to provide secondary face/eye protection; must be worn over approved glasses or goggles; available in disposable and reusable models constructed of acetate, propionate, and/or polycarbonate. Regulatory compliance details can be obtained at the individual product level.

Face shields are intended as secondary face and eye protection when worn in addition to protective glasses or goggles.

Some face shields can be worn with an adjustable headband for stand-alone use. Others are made with slots that can be attached to a hood, cap, hardhat, or other headgear.

Half-face shields cover the upper half of the face and may serve as an integral part of disposable face masks, protecting the eyes as well as the nose and mouth.

Available in disposable and reusable models, face shields are often constructed of acetate, propionate, and polycarbonate materials. The plastic shield may also be:

  • Clear for greater visibility
  • Tinted to reduce glare
  • Metallic plated for heat resistance

Many face shields have abrasion-resistant external surfaces and their internal surfaces may be treated to reduce fogging during wear.

Face shields are available in a range of thicknesses to protect against specific hazards and may be rated for performance, safety, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
