Hydrogen chloride, 5 to 6M soln. in 2-propanol may be used in measuring their conductance at 250. It is used in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals to get a hydrochloride salt. For example, ranitidine base is converted to ranitidine hydrochloride, which is used as anti ulcerative drug.
