The Organoid Essentials Package contains the key components required for the development of organoid models in cell culture.
The package contains the following five vials:
- 10 μg Mouse Wnt-3a (Cat. No. 315-20-10UG)
- 100 μg Human Noggin (Cat. No. 120-10C-100UG)
- 100 μg Human R-Spondin 1 (Cat. No. 120-38-100UG)
- 100 μg Human FGF-10 (Cat. No. 100-26-100UG)
- 100 μg Animal-Free Human EGF (Cat. No. AF-100-15-100UG)
FGF-10 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth, and invasion.
Noggin is involved in numerous developmental processes, such as natural tube fusion and joint formation. The morphogenesis of organs is initiated by a downgrowth from a layer of epithelial stem cells.
EGF (epidermal growth factor) exerts its actions by binding to the EGF Receptor, a 170 kDa protein kinase. Activation of EGFR initiates diverse cellular pathways in response to toxic environmental stimuli or to EGF binding to the receptor.
R-Spondin-1 is a member of the R-spondin family and encodes a secreted activator protein with two cysteine-rich, furin-like domains and one thrombospondin type 1 domain.
Wnt3a, part of the WNT gene family, consists of structurally related genes that encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.
