Description
Sodium bismuth oxide is used for the determination of manganese in iron, steel and ores. It is also used in the separation of plutonium and acts as a strong oxidizer. It is used in the conversion of manganese compound to permanganate. Further, it is used in the preparation of hexavalent americium (Am) during its separation from the lanthanides and in the hydrothermal synthesis of bismuth oxychloride micrometer-sized single crystals. In addition to this, it is employed as a precursor in the preparation of bismuth nanoforms.
