It is also used as a solvent and an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Further, it is employed in the preparation of quaternary ammonium compounds, agrochemicals, surfactants, lubricant additives, corrosion inhibitors, vulcanization accelerators and dyes.
