Hypoxanthine and thymidine supply preformed purines and pyrimidines for DNA synthesis by hybridomas via the salvage pathway that utilizes HGPRT contributed by the fused spleen cell
Aminopterin, a folic acid antagonist, inhibits the de novo nucleoside biosynthesis pathway
